Obsession

Dear Santa,
I know this is not Christmas but can I still have these...

Seriously if I get all these, I won't buy anymore handbags for the next 2 years. Really.. They are going for GBP175.00 (which is about RM1300), for all three ok! Good deal right, considering a brand new 2.55 costs about RM5000, each? Should I get them..? The bidding ends tomorrow.. (gosh I'm sooo nervous!)

Or these..? Not that I am obssessed with the LV monograms, one is enough.. It's just the thoughts of traveling with them.. ALL of them. ahh... divine.. They're going for GBP200 (yes, for all of them). Another good deal, right? please say yes...

Junkies

I love junk food. Today I have cravings for ice cream and goreng pisang. Left work early at 4pm, went straight to Subang Parade and queued up for Baskin Robbins :) I got myself a Quart of Maui Brownie Madness which is my all time favourite. It's so thick and gooey, who would have thought it is actually Low fat yogurt! Then made my way to SS 15 goreng pisang, I think they have the best goreng pisang ever.. hmm.. yumm..

All my efforts to go on diet is so overr.. I keep thinking it is ok to binge-eat when you're sick. The problem is, I have been religiously feeding myself with bad stuff which is not really helping me to recover. I will be taking a 20-hour flight this Friday so I need to get better or they might put me on a plane back to Malaysia as soon as I arrived in LAX with all these germs (yeah, you can't even enter the US embassy here in KL if you are having fever or coughing, which is complete BS!) Mat sallehs are just pussies..

Vaccine.. yeah right!

I have not had fever for at least 1 - 2 years, that was last year. I took this flu *vaccine that was supposed to prevent me from getting sick, prior to my trip to Eastern Europe late last year... and guess what? I got sick twice since then!

I'm down with fever again today, took a medical leave but had to still join a telecon in the morning, to listen to some audit prep briefing. Boy, it was sooo interesting that I suddenly caught myself snoring (cute hard breathing, i am sick ok.. heheh) halfway! Can't imagine the life of an auditor, sounds like you have a very lively career.. Not!! (no offense, :p)

Oh yeah, anybody wants to go to Bangkok with me? That'll be end of April. Free accommodation at this luxurious hotel, courtesy of The Corporation for 3 nights! Btw, I am not sharing a room with strangers so you have to be somebody I already know and comfortable with though :)

Hip hip hooray!!

Nothing special about my work outfit today. I just wanted to celebrate Kimi's glory at Sepang yesterday. I have always been a supporter, since his Sauber days. That cool arrogance, him in that red Ferrari - perfect match!

What to wear... hmm...

Guess what? I'm going to US!! Well, I am actually nervous with this new job. Close friends should know how much this is bothering me lately. New job, new boss, new team members. I am not moving to a new company, just moving to a new role but after 4 years in this current position, I have to finally leave my comfort zone.

I am literally freaking out that even this US trip doesn't excite me.. I am trying to think positive here so the only way to keep me happy is probably to think of what to wear during that trip! :)

Sale or Nothing

Tangs Pavilion is probably even better than the iconic one in Singapore. It stocks many chic labels that were previously unavailable for Malaysian market. There are Cacharel and BluGirl if you are a fan of the girly & demure French look, there's Alannah Hill the Australian designer famous for her fragile lace tops and dresses (she has a range of really pretty cardigans), and if you have been looking for a designer jeans, they also stock True Religion.

Moving on to the upper floor, I felt like the racks are filled with clothes from either Thailand or Hong Kong, the stuffs you normally find in Bangsar, only with bigger price tags. If you are a fan of TH/HK fashion but have not been very lucky to find your sizes in Bangsar, at least now you can try your luck at Tangs as department stores carry different sizes from XS to XL. I am in particular quite a fan of Martina Pink, Coterie & Je'taime. Oh yeah.. actually, if you have been to Bangkok and come across the Greyhound cafe or stores, yes.. Tang's also stock up this particular label! I am not a fan of this one though..

So, if you have not been to Tang's Pavilion yet, go check it out this weekend as the SALE IS ON! They have special mark downs for Karren Millen, Reese and Topshop. If you are a fan of CK underwear (both ladies & men), they have really good deals going on now as well.

No, this post is not brought to you by Tang's and No, my blouse is not sponsored by Tang's either. I am just a concerned citizen of KL fashionistas (with reasonably small budget) who feel obliged not to put her daily window shopping breaks to waste!

..You're welcome :)

Anxiety

I have this problem - I fumble when I feel pressured to say something! Went to my Toastmasters meeting on Wednesday, was very unlucky, got selected to deliver an impromptu speech. The topic was, of all things, "My Greatest Childhood Memories" - For god's sake!

I don't know why, the first thing that hit my mind was - those days when I used to play my mum's Jane Fonda aerobics on the VCR, and religiously follow the steps, every single day (without fail!) before I go to the kindergarten. Being someone who speaks her mind, naturally that came out of my mouth so here goes my speech:

"I had a freaky childhood. I don't think it was very interesting as the only thing I did was, watch Miss Universe, play Barbie Dolls, do Jane Fonda's workout before going to the kindergarten, borrow my maid's cosmetics and put make up on my school friends. *pause, pressured* I think this has influenced me to be who I am today *shut up!!* then I .. *said something something I couldn't remember* then I went back again to this has influenced me as I am obsessed with shopping now. *WTF??!!!* I don't know why I am telling you all this but this is VERY embarrassing!!"

So yes, it was disastrous.. :( I suck... BIG TIME!! now everyone at work is going to think that I am this snobbish- superficial-thing-so-don't-be-friends-with-her!!

To make things worse, few other girls went up and told stories about THEIR childhood, playing police & thieves, masak-masak, hide & seek in the kampung, etc.. and totally make me look like spoilt brat with pathetic childhood!

Seriously, I may be superficial but I am nice ok.. fine, a bit snobbish.. NO!! I'm actually shy... REALLY!!!!

New Addictions

Guess I am a late bloomer. I am a non-IT-savvy-IT-person. Hmm!! Seriously, yours truly just discovered facebook and guess what.. eBay!!! Duhh..

Gosh.. I can't even control my spending when time and energy is limited but with eBay, I can even shop from my own bedroom, from the office, from anywhere with broadband & seriously, I can now literally shop with one eye closed, single handedly!!! AWESOME or ... dangerous?

Chanel Inspired

I went to Sg Wang last weekend, thought of checking out what they have on the 6th floor. Scored a few items including this emblem-ish brooch. I was looking for one for quite sometime, need it to refresh my old velvet jacket. Got this one for only RM15 which I think was quite a bargain!

Wet Saturday

Today I went to Sg Wang then Pavilion to watch Vantage Point. The movie is interesting, I like it coz it is different. The cinema was packed but the crowd was a little annoying. They kept sighing, making noises everytime the movie 'rewinds' and went through the views of the different characters (u have to watch to understand what I am saying).

Nissan has probably invested in this movie. I think the car chasing scene has gone a little too far. You will find their Nissan Tiida/Versa/Latio crashed into trucks, cars and still got away without dents on the front!

*Do you know?
The film was not actually shot in Plaza Mayor, Salamanca Spain. Mexico City doubled for Salamanca and the crew (led by the same person in charged of Moulin Rouge) built the exact replica of Plaza Mayor in Mexico City that took weeks to complete. The result? impressive & breathtaking!
