Boringgg...

I am starting to get really bored with the clothes I have so this is what I ended up with today. I just feel like doing something crazy despite the laziness.. hence the gladiators-leggings-classic red lips. Yeah, I put this together at 5:30am so that explains!

I literally got a few stares today, who cares? OK, my outfit was rather radical (for an office in KL) but it was the red lipstick that made people looked twice.. haha.. it was fun anyway..

Coach

Dear Coach Lovers... Enjoy!

I went to the boutique in KLCC at lunch time. They have pretty good ones, including shoes. I am not quite a fan though.. but worth checking out, if they fit your taste :)

Treasures

I am in the process of killing my first project so in a way I am jobless. Guess I wont be anywhere near Japan anytime soon.. blergh

As a result to that, I was feeling rather bored at work today so spent few hours in the morning searching for my first 2.55. RM8800 for a brand new is pretty steep and no way I could ever justify spending that much money on a handbag.

Anyway, I found a few vintage shops in KL. They are not too bad at all so if you are looking for ways to spend your weekend or few hours after work, go check them out!

1. Scoop | Plaza Damas (Block P)
2. Attic House | Plaza Damas (Block L)
3. Milan Classic | Cheras Business Centre
4. Luxury Vintage | Plaza Damas

Let me know if there are more of them!

Tired....

Gosh.. been a while since the last entry. I was away, attending offsite meeting in KL.. Was a great meeting, I had fun building 'network' and getting to know others.. We had team dinner at Planet Hollywood last night - been AGES since I watched a live band and played pool .. so it was nice to catch NRG and hit the dance floor - was not as awkward as we're dancing among ourselves :)

Anyway, saw this in Nitrolicious:

Retails for 3,500 euros! There you go.. start saving ;)

p/s: I'm tired - need a professional hairwash!

Haircut

I had a haircut yesterday. Haircut and shopping always make me feel better when I am down, somehow it did not work this time around. It's like no matter what I buy, they can never replace the only thing that matters to me.

Watched P.S I love you for the second time, soon it will be my turn.. well, not entirely the same.. but "...being abandoned by choice does not make it any easier"..

Good Morninggg!!

I have always updated my blog at night but just feel like doing it now. They are having problems with the aircond so it is really warm here.. so cannot work! :p

Outfit today is a tribute to SATC. OK, in a MUCH smaller scale. I don't have any prom dresses to wear with a pair of manolos so this is all I could settle for..

Wearing
Skirt: ZARA
T-Shirt: ZARA
Swing Jacket: Forever 21
Belt: Unknown
Shoes: New Look
Bracelet: Unknown

This is also my first attempt to prints and color clashing - I used my camera phone so the colors are washed out. The accessories are actually in light blue and my jacket has grey-white stripes.

Hmmm... Okay!

I think SJP has gone too far. I am not sure if I am going to like the highly anticipated movie.. saw some pictures of their wardrobe in the movie and Carrie's wedding gown (and the 'veil') is a huge frustration. She reminds me of Victoria Beckham's wedding gown - with the CROWN, the apple bridal bouquet - she looked like a witch!

I guess Patricia Field was trying too hard to keep up with the reputation she's built from the tv series.. but such a let down!

I am really not sure about the revealing neckline - it makes her wrinkles and freckles even more obvious. The feather is just making her look so.. hmm.. scary?

... well at least VB has that baby face to go in contrast with her outfit

Don't get me wrong, I love SJP and I would like to put the blame on Ms Field but I dont think she dresses SJP to the premiere as well (like what's up with the head gear??!), did she? It just seem like SJP / Carrie is trying really hard to outshine the other girls. Well, still love SATC - I guess like normal people, they too have wardrobe taste malfunctions at times..

p/s: I think Cynthia / Miranda looks great though.. confident and modern, as always

Rockin'

Do you like my gladiators? :p Don't care what you think, I love them coz they rawkkk!!

Dress: ZARA
Cropped Jacket: H&M

Yes, I wore that to work! I got quite a few stares, especially the dress and black nail polish and the studded bracelets but who cares.. it was my birthday so I am entitled to wear anything I want.. :p *attention seeker* haha

p/s: oh yeah, I did catch someone's attention, it was a senior manager (an expat) who bumped into me in the lift. He went "Hi xxx - ohh.. that is a new dress, haven't seen that before". I just stared at him, speechless! (if you've read one of my posts earlier, I am always stunned whenever ppl make 'blind' conversations with me)Anyway, yeah.. that was embarrassing that he had to change the topic to.. so how is 12th floor? duhh!! - for someone who just preached about style & grace.. yeah.. I AM Full of $hit.. haha - By the way, cursing is allowed in literature, as a form of creative writing.. :p

Style & Grace 101

I left my phone cable in the office so sorry, no photos today! I christened my gladiator heels too so guess you'll have to wait til tomorrow.. :p

Anyway, since I will not be posting any pics today, let's just talk about hmm.. manners. Some people feel intimidated to walk into high-end stores, fine-dining restaurants.. for the fear of others looking down to (or at?) them. Well, it is not all about physical appearance. The moment you open your mouth, how you initiate and answer questions and how you behave will make a whole lot of difference.

I am sure you have come across some girls, mak datins, celebs who look extremely good and posh but by the time they open their mouth, hancus!! .. and, there are some people who actually look much simpler but the way they speak and carry themselves instantly put them above the rest. No need accents/slangs just put together the right words, voila!

#1 - When somebody asks you "How are you", instead of saying "I'm good", why not try "I am doing well, thanks. How about you?" Or, simpler version could be "I am fine, THANKS. How are you?"

#2 - Always add the word "Please" when you ask for something. Say you are in a Chanel boutique, you want to have a look at a bag. You can say "Can I have a look at that one, please..?"

#3 - Oh yeah, some mat sallehs made fun of me with these words: "Salmon" should actually be pronounced as "Sa(l)mon" - silent L. "Almond" should be "Ah-mond"

#4 - Always, always remember NOT to use slangs! They are NOT COOL, unless if you like to be associated with people from Queens or Brooklyn instead of Manhattan. Usage of the words like "ain't", "wassup", "how's it goin'", "yo!", "cool mannnn", etc... erkk.. oh yeah, DO NOT curse either!

#5 - Lastly, walk with confidence and when talking to people, look them in the eye. Establish eye contact. Practice those essential phrases in #1-#4 until you master a smooth accent and you will see the difference!

#6 - Oh yeah, one more thing. This is something I am trying really hard to get rid off, try not to have that nasal tone (it sounds annoying). Project your voice from your throat - ok, I do not know how to explain this in technical terms but I think you should know what I mean.

There you go, long lengthy post. It is written from personal experiences. Basic stuffs that people take for granted yet really effective in building your personality.

p/s: somebody is going to have a good laugh at this and probably thinking "look who's talking!" .. i have improved a lot ok!!

Not Even Close

People say some of us can't stop shopping because we are just not content with our lives.. I am far from having it all, something is still missing..

Clock's Ticking

I think this would be the last year that I am dressing up like this. I will start dressing up my age next year. Although it is more fun, it is however just so wrong to get inspired by those teenage characters in Gossip Girl or in the likes of Nicole Richie, the Olsens, Misha Barton, Lindsay Lohan, etc...

I have always liked the proper chic look, think Charlotte York, Kate Bosworth, Katie Holmes, Jennifer Aniston. Not only they are more feminine, I think the look is more classy and appropriate for the office too.

I hate to say goodbye and I don't want to grow up.. those sayings that you should be yourself somehow is not necessarily that easy I guess. Sucks!!

A Perfect Dinner

We had dinner at Al-Nafourah (Le Meridien), believe it or not I actually dislike Middle Eastern / Mediteranean (whatever you call it) food. It was however my choice .. as I was hooked to that restaurant for one particular reason. The belly dancing!! he he he...

I don't know why but I find it very entertaining that I couldn't stop smiling and literally had my mouth open throughout the performance.. even men in the room didn't really watch her like I did. he he he..

So somebody paid a huge bill so I could watch that girl dance :) Thank you!! It was THE BEST dinner ever.. I know Frangipani serves the best food in town but unfortunately they don't have a belly dancer.. :(

Countdown...

Today I received:

1. SKII gift sets - thanks "Debbie" for telling me that my eyes are wrinkly, and somebody obviously remembers that, and come to rescue!
2. My Gladiator sandals!! :) That was really quick, I ordered it last week! Tapi.. tersangatlah tinggi.. It looks really good but I have to admit they are not the most comfortable shoes I have - or ever tried.. So for the sake of being trendy, I guess I have to carry spare shoes with me, in case I break my ankle. Errk..

Soooo excited, 4 days to go.. tee hee

After 2 successful purchases from eBay, I am pretty convinced that Internet is one of the best invention ever!

So, here are my latest eBay searches:
1. Vera Wang and DVF dresses for work
2. Leather biker jacket - then I'll have to find a place to wear it to :p
3. Vintage tops/dresses

... but, I had my usual night chat with mum a minute ago.. our topic today is as usual, politics.. she told me that the price of rice has gone up to 100% at certain places.. kesian orang2 miskin.. and here I am browsing for more and more clothes, handbags, shoes, etc... ok, we'll see how long I can stay feeling guilty like this..

... come on people, have some faith in me will ya?!

p/s: I have night telecon tomorrow.. and it's Friday night for god's sake! cari makan punya pasal... *sigh*

Wow

OK, this entry is conflicting with my interest but lately I am feeling very patriotic (especially thanks to that recent visit to Thailand!).

Can you believe that Anwar Ibrahim is at #9 of TIME Top 100 Most Influential People for 2008? No no.. this is not a joke like when people say Maya Karin or Siti Nurhaliza is in FHM's Top 100 Sexiest Women. Anwar Ibrahim is actually in THE TIME magazine's list (no, no such thing as the Asian version whatsoever)..

He is in the Top 10 alongside these following great leaders:
1. Dalai Lama
2. Vladimir Putin
3. Barrack Obama
4. Hillary Clinton
5. John McCain
6. Hu Jintao
7. George W. Bush
8. Jacob Zuma
9. Anwar Ibrahim
10. Kevin Rudd

This is what Paul Wolfowitz (former US Deputy Secretary of Defense) wrote of Anwar: "I felt his real "crime" had been to challenge Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, whose impressive record will be forever stained by his treatment of Anwar"

For a complete listing, click here

He has really put Malaysia on the map now, hasn't he?

Burberry Blue

I am extremely busy.. I have no idea how I am going to manage all the stuffs on my plate :(

If I were to go to Japan end of this month, I need to figure out how to organize the workshop. I cannot fly all the way just to sit and chat around, can I? The problem is, I am absolutely clueless!

Anyway, IF I ended up going, as usual, I have to find a motivation. Guess what? I found Burberry Blue, which is exclusive to only Japan market :D

Tell me you won't go gaga over these:

or these...

cute kannn... macam Suri Cruise... dia pun takde Burberry Blue.. :p

Damn I'm hilarious!

p/s: I wish I could go for free.. trips come with price tags, huge one indeed!!
