This is the part when..

I feel guilty as hell!!! I made this purchase today (after swearing to retire from shopping):

OK, here's the thing.. I bought this dress at ZARA on Monday (one serious IMPULSE purchase). I never buy anything >RM200 so as usual, I feel terribly bad but I was telling myself that it's my birthday month (well, it's actually May but still <30 day range) so that dress is like my birthday present. And I thought I have been working hard so it is like a reward. OK fine, I said the same thing on all other purchases made in Houston, Bangkok and OK fine, KL too (to make me more excited for the Houston trip)

Anyway, the sandals cost me USD18.99 and plus shipment, it sums up to USD43, which is like RM140. *gulp* ok quite pricey for a sandal main-main . Well, damage is done..

Actually, main reason why I got that sandal is, the ZARA dress I was telling you about earlier is too girlish.. it's long and flowy and have sweet & pretty prints (gosh, ZARA is like a candy store now, I love it!!).. so I need to pair it with something trashy and a bit more punkish or I'd look like aunt Gertrude, right.. and since I'm turning a year older, I need to look younger.. :p

Gosh.. hutang keliling pinggang.. :( quoting my mum's words: "Takde duit, buat cara tak ada duit!" Am I living beyond means..?

Hmmph!

Today, I found/received/did:

#1 - My Gaucho has finally arrived!! :))
#2 - Those of you who just came back from Bandung, tak aci okkk!!! It was like a totally awesome girly girly sessions, those shopping spree and pamperings for you while I ended up in that piece-of-s*** place..??!! seriously..?? seriously??!! see, i hardly curse (it's not very elegant) but can you tell I am totally jealous.. ?
#3 - The rim of my front tyre is scratched.. and my baby is only like 6 months old.. *sigh*
#4 - I am going to J-A-P-A-N at the end of May and probably again in September.. yay!
#5 - Inland revenue s*cks!! My salary has been religiously deducted every month and how do I still end up owing them money??!! blood sucking *&@)(&#(*@
#6 - I just realized that I left my microfibre hair turban in Bangkok. That is like one of the best purchases I made in Houston. I will be in grief..

I am so going to sleep with mixed feelings tonight. I want to be happy but I am not :(

p/s: Babe, the telekung you got me from Bandung is uber cool ok.. even my mum loves it! THANK YOU!! so that kinda made my day.. besides Thai food :p

Demon demon go away..

Work has officially started. Honeymoon is so o.v.e.r. No more excuses, blergh..

I cannot stop spending. Houston, Bangkok and now KL.. No wonder OCBC bank keeps sending me free credit cards.. I think they have sent me AT LEAST 4 credit cards although none of them have been activated. When will they ever learn??!!

I manage to discipline myself to only stick to 1 credit card. So far I have been quite okay. Although it is causing serious damage to my bank account as 30% of my pay every month goes into the deposit machine. If only it goes into my savings account.. I am definitely screwed should I lose my job!

I shall leave my credit cards at home starting tomorrow

MH = Malaysian Hospitality

I am home. Other than the horrible first night, the entire visit was not as disastrous as I thought it would be. I managed to settle as soon as I found these.. (typical, heheh..)

60 baht (like RM6.50) each!! A colleague took me to this market behind our office at Sathorn Road. This is where the locals shop so the prices can even be cheaper than Chathuchak. Unfortunately I only had 1 hour lunch so that was all I could grab.

I managed to catch up with some Malaysian expats there and asked them if they have 'settled in':

Me: So do you like living here?
Expat: Yeah, the service is great! After all these 'pampering', it will be difficult for us to re-adjust when we go back to Malaysia!
Me: What do you mean?
Expat: Valet parking is free here. They do free delivery for your shopping, at whatever time you wish too! And when we go restaurants, they even have these 'nannies' who will look after your babies.
Me: Wow.
Expat: Yeah!! I even feel much safer here compared to KL.
Me: Hmm.. What about work?
Expat: Thais are very protective of their people. They are very very nice people, well at least in front of you but god knows what kind of discussions they have about you behind your back. The management takes really good care of their employees there! (I have heard of the same comments from at least 5 different people who have extensive work experience with Thais). So, if you work with them just be careful to not cross the line coz like it or not, the bosses will still prefer their people :)

Anyway, here's my list of top 5 reasons why I like Bangkok:
#1 - Those RM6 belts and RM10 necklaces/rings, etc...
#2 - The mangoes!!!
#3 - Durian Chips
#4 - The markets
#5 - The vintage shops - I came across at least 3 shops selling vintage designer handbags. Unfortunately they are still expensive but at least this gives us wider options!

.. and here are top 5 reasons why it made me feel very thankful that I am Malaysian:
#1 - No creepy objects, well at least at common places..
#2 - Food, especially choices of halal food
#3 - I think their traffic jams are worse
#4 - Everyone speaks English
#5 - Cleaner

Hmm.. I could get into trouble for writing this could I? Well, there are pros and cons.. I am still Malaysian so what do you expect? :p

Ahh..

I have moved :) .. to a hotel next door.. not as luxurious as the one before but as long as I can sleep at night then I am happy. This one's modern and minimal, not one idol at sight.. :)

Alhamdulillah...

I am NOT in heaven

I am currently sitting on a workdesk, in a 5 star hotel.. very nice, very exclusive.. except for this one thing that I can NEVER ever tolerate! This hotel has Buddha idols and wall hangings at literally EVERY corner and in every rooms..

I already called housekeeping and they have removed one standing dancing buddha, except for the other one that is fixed to the wall (and now covered with a towel).. I am EXTREMELY upset and my parents are even considering of flying over coz i am LITERALLY freaking out.

Please please God, I hope my boss will approve of me moving to another hotel next door coz I can't live like this.. :(((

Warehouse Sale #1

Before I go.. dear perfume and branded cosmetics lovers, have fun!

p/s: I love the Shu Uemura cleansing oil, superb product. A tiny drop could do wonders with even the most heavy weight mascara and foundation. Go get a bottle!
I am enjoying a lazy weekend.. watching back-to-back episodes of Grey's Anatomy.. Dr. Yang makes me laugh, I love her!!

Went to Bangsar today to get my eyebrows shaped (plus other facial hair, erkk.. very minor ok..).. I am still in pain..

Wearing
Dress - Unknown, my 1st ever vintage find for RM5

p/s: I'm off to Bangkok tomorrow, see ya in a week! I know some lucky people who are going to Bandung this week, I am still pissed for having to cancel and go to Bangkok instead! erghh.. Not to mention that I have yet to arrange for that extra night accommodation in Bangkok, let's just hope I don't end up sleeping in a club or some dodgy 'rumah tumpangan'...

Houston

Houston was great, definitely shopaholic's heaven! We went to Katy Mills, and this is the damage:

Loving this look

I am so in the mood for these midi pocket skirts. Unfortunately my search for it has not been very successful. These beauties are by Gucci so obviously they are wayyy out of my budget

It is not a breakthrough in design, nothing innovative compared to Balenciaga's (Nicholas Ghesquiere) futuristic-tribal collection but at least this one is wearable, very modern and classy. I love it! Frida Gianini is a genius, definitely at par with her predecessor Tom Ford (well, almost).

p/s: Does anyone know if they sell Durian chips at Chatuchak?

Searching...

I am soo madly in love with these gladiator heels.. bid starts at USD200.. it's authentic Balenciaga too.. should i?

p/s: Carine Roitfeld has one.. and maybe I should get it as a little birthday pressie...yes?

Tada!!

I'm backk! Super tired.. but totally awesome trip, the best business trip ever!! I was fortunate that we kept bumping into people from work, some of them rent cars so free ride to almost any places we want to go :)

Met so many people, such an eye opener to my new role. Feeling nervous, more than ever but it is such an honor to be in the same team as those brilliant people. The next couple of years are going to be super hectic and challenging for me. It is time to get serious with work, a lot to pick up in the next 6 months. The competition begins!

I am entitled for 2-days off, the long hours on the plane is draining. Unfortunately have to get back to work, ex-supervisor is here so need to see him to complete my appraisal. Don't think I care but what I say in that piece of paper sums up all the hard work that I have put in the past 12 months. Sounds simple but what if I put it this way - it determines my increment next year.. hmm.. can't say I don't care anymore, can I? all the LV trunks, Balenciagas, Chanels..

Anyway, Houston's awesome - at least for a shopaholic like me! Will post pics of goodies I bought later ;)

I dont wanna grow up..

I was in ZARA today and why is it when you are looking for something, you end up spending AGES in the store and still could not find anything decent.. but when the only plan you have is to window shop, you ALWAYS end up getting something?

Anyway, I actually went to ZARA couple of weeks ago, and tried on this tube dress. It has those metal studs at the top and you have probably known by now how much I love metal studs... ahh.. Love at first sight.. UNTIL I come to my senses that I am approaching the big three-0, I should not be walking around looking like I'm trapped in a teenager's body! eerrkkk..

It is really unfair.. why is it now, when I finally have enough money to shop on my own and when the clothes are getting more and more fashionable, when these imported brands are finally accessible, it is actually kind of too late?

p/s: I think my fingers look kinda freaky in that 2nd pic.. anyway, I am off to Houston tomorrow. Gonna miss starHILL! see ya soon, toodles!

Why..?

I am starting to ask myself the purpose of this blog. I feel like it's starting to appear like a form of self obsession..? Errkk!

I started this blog with the objective of making money. I heard about payperpost from Snazzy and thought I should start doing the same. It's easy money right..? well, not quite. One, I dont have enough readers so why would an advertiser invest in this blog.. second, I am just too lazy to read through the 10000-page of terms & conditions.. Blergh..

After a while it's starting to get quite fun. It gives me a challenge to come up with new look each day, thinking I would be taking pictures and post them on this blog. There have been times when I just feel too lazy to dress up. After all, I am still an IT analyst working for a corporation where fashion does not exist!

Anyhow, however it turns out (after 2 months) I feel quite good about it. Well, while at lasts.

I have been obsessed with the punk chic look for quite a while now. The whole outfit could have looked better with deep red nail polish, those polished ponytail and some dark eyeliner. Was just not brave enough to go that far to work..

p/s: I may be more enthusiastic if my photographer is more supportive! >:( oh yeah.. those Chanel triplets were sold at GBP785. I KNEW it was gonna be a HUGE investment!! well.. too late now..
